10 simple ways to include your pet on your Elopement day

We all know pets are like children - They're family! They mean the world to you, so having them be a part of your big day only seems right.

Here are some helpful tips and ways to include your pet on your elopement day.

1 - Pick a date that is meaningful.

Maybe you get married on the day you got your pet, or their birthday. An easy way to always have them be connected to your new chapter.

2 - Get ready with your pet.

This is an easy low stress way for your pet to be included, especially if you've chosen an airbnb and are both getting ready in the same location.

3 - A first look with your pet.

A special way to document some cuddle and kisses with them. Dress them up with a cute wedding bandana or accessories. Photo's you'll be sure to treasure forever.

4 - Hire or bring along a friend to be their caretaker on the day of.

This allows for multiple options throughout your day. They can join for different parts of the elopement or stay back at your accommodations, knowing that they'll be looked after.

5 - Have them stand by your side as you say your vows.

If you're pet is able to join for this portion, it would be so special to have them by your side as you say your vows. Dress them up with a flower garland around their neck and it will be the perfect special touch to the moment.

6 - Create a cake topper that resembles them.

A sweet way to pay tribute to them and a keepsake that you could turn into decor or an ornament after.

7 - Bring cut out faces of your besties.

A playful and fun way to have them be there in spirit. Who wouldn't want bride and groom portraits on a mountain top holding a giant cut out of their favourite pet(s) face.

8 - Find someone who specializes in custom cookies.

Create cookies of your pets faces, maybe with your elopement date on them. You can send them to your family and friends as a way to include them also.

9 - book a day after session.

A day after session can capture memories without the stress of bringing them along to the elopement, worrying if they're behaving etc. Instead, the day after is a great way to focus on them for a couple of hours - morning cuddles at the airbnb, maybe take them on an adventure they'd love or a picnic by the water with their favourite treats.

10 - Include them on you "WE ELOPED!" cards that you send out.
